Boro Fly To Portugal - Date: 21 Jul 2008

Middlesbrough FC have flown out to Portugal ahead of The Algarve Challenge Cup which starts on Tuesday against Celtic.

Gareth Southgate however will be without Mido who has had problems getting a Visa to enter Portugal but Ross Turnbull is likely to feature after his partner gave birth.

Southgate said, "They needed the game on Friday because the two games this week in Portugal will be quite a severe test, so it was good to get a bit of a lower key game at first."

"The games will be fairly competitive and it’ll be another important step in terms of getting ourselves ready for the start of the season."

Tuncay Sanli, Gary O’Neil and Marvin Emnes all missed out Friday night for the game against York City but will all feature this week.
