Boro To Sign Lita - Date: 1 Aug 2009

Middlesbrough FC are on the verge of signing Leroy Lita.

The striker is a free agent after leaving Reading this summer.

Sheffield United have also been linked with Lita and manager Kevin Blackwell has already held talks with his agent.

Sky Sports understand that Boro have now emerged as frontrunners after meeting with the 24-year-old's representatives over the last 24 hours.

Lita is set to undergo a medical with Boro on Monday.
