It’s that time papers start the rhetoric and wind up other nations. Pictures of a cup from 1966 next to wording of coming home, coming home. Please no, not again. I would dearly love to see something original, different & thoughtful.
The question is how far will we go, I did say how far because I don’t see us winning without a lot of luck. Why. Well England will take some mature players which I believe will be affected by altitude. Burn out with little time to recover. I just don’t believe we have the depth and pace to go all the way and I don’t see anyone that can drive the pack, a Keane if you like.

not a cat in hells chance , we only have 2 world class players rooney and cole (ashley not joe) gerard was but not this season. then we have 3 very good international players ,ferdinand lampard and gerard, and thats it . take a look at the team in 1990 it was better than this one and only made the semis and everyone else has improved.
take spain -world class players , torres, villa,xavi,inuesta,silva...have i missed anyone?

To be honest the reason us scots support abe(anyone but England) is because of the press! We ain't there so mon the Algeria USA and whoever else is in your group! Haha

Sergio Ramos and Casillas...Pique isn't bad either..oh and you would nearly put Fabregas into the World class bracket but he won't even be starting.

To be honest, talking as a person who doesn't want England to win it, I think you have as good a chance as any. Yes I think Spain are out and out favourites. But then the World Cup means that you have one bad game and you're out. If Spain have one bad game and go out then its anyones in my opinion. England have just as good a team as the likes of Italy, Brazil, Argentina, Holland, etc.
