WHAT DOES GS HAVE TO DO TO WIN YOU OVER
Another good result, another decent performance, another 3 goals. What does GS have to do to win some of you over. He was honest enough in his post match interview to say there are still parts of our game he is still not satisfied with, and is not getting carried away. Im not saying he is now the finished article, far from it. The thing is he is definitely in my mind good enough to get us out of this league at the first go, whether he will be lucky enough remains to be seen. We all know he is going nowhere soon so why not give the man a break.
We had 10 academy lads in the squad yesterday and in fact the majority of them played some part in the match. We now have Wheater who knows what it means to be a fan as our captain. I think we have plenty to be proud of at the moment and very little to be negative about so lets get right behind everyone, especially at our next home match against West Brom who will provide us with a true test of how good we are, and how far we have come. I really hope I dont have to eat those words come the end of that match. ![]() ![]()

RE: WHAT DOES GS HAVE TO DO TO WIN YOU OVER
BL - So far so good this season (lets forget the last one ever happened
).We have a team good enough to, at least in my opinion, reach the play offs so I'm looking forward to cheering the lads on to a good few wins with a fair smattering of goals. Would he have been my choice as manager for this season? No but he is so I wish the team (and as a result him) the very best. Could he be a top manager? Quite possibly, I just wish he hadn't had to serve his apprenticeship at the Boro while we were in the Premiership. 'I would not be bothered if we lost every game as long as we won the league'. |

RE: WHAT DOES GS HAVE TO DO TO WIN YOU OVER
TBH win the championship, consolidate in the P.L, sign half decent players and get a nounce about tactics.
We should have had a clear out lafter last season's debacle from the chief exec down to the first team coaches, however apart from a bit of tinkering here and there nothing much has changed and nothing said or done so far has gave me any more confidence in the peolpe in charge than last season, if anything i have less after all the contradictory statements made, this is why we could not even get 20000 fans for yesterday's home game, had we had a clear out it may have restored confidence and gates. However we have had a good start but i will reserve judgement on this season until May not after six games! Lets face it out of the 6 games played so far we have won 4 against poor teams we should be beating but when up against half decent teams (shef utd and B.City we have struggled), so i think after about 12 games we should be in a better position to judge though i agree we have made a good start to the season. |

RE: WHAT DOES GS HAVE TO DO TO WIN YOU OVER
Although Ipswich are languishing at the bottom of the table they were one of the favourites for promotion before the season started. They've also added a few ex-Prem players to their squad so I'm not sure they'll end up being considered a poor Championship team come the end of the season (Keane may prove me wrong though
)Agreed we'll be able to judge better in May but so far so good! 'I would not be bothered if we lost every game as long as we won the league'. |

I do however think the game was a potential banana skin indeed the type of game we have all too often lost before, so credit were credit's due it was a good win but no more than we should expect. |

RE: WHAT DOES GS HAVE TO DO TO WIN YOU OVER
I've always been a fan of Gareth's honesty and integrity.
I have questioned his tactical nous and his ability to manage difficult personalities/situations. His tactical decisions seem to have been better this season and there's less big personalities to control this term. He doesn't need to win me over, but I'd like to be able to logically understand the decisions he makes Boro 'til I die |

The squad that made a decent start to the season and showed such promise has been decimated in the August window. Our first sub 20,000 crowd for many years is a fair indication of how bad things have got. I'd love to share your optimism but lets see how we get on in our next two games against Wednesday and the Baggies. I suspect the truth is going to hurt. |
