Powlay 35
Lewis Galpin DOB – 1811/1993 Squad Number - Debut – © Copyright Christopher L. Powlay - All rights reserved. Lewis is a versatile defender who can technically play anywhere across the defensive line, used mainly as a full back by Middlesbrough at U18 level he can slide into centre back if needed because of his ability in the air. Part of the youth side that won the prestigious Nike Cup in 2008. A fearless ‘old fashioned’ style defender who doesn’t think twice about putting his head into places where he may get a knock. Lewis is an intelligent defender who stays on his feet instead of diving into a tackle. A composed defender, who doesn’t dwell on the ball, excels when moving forward. Personal thoughts Surprised to find out the Lewis wasn’t offered a 3rd year scholarship, he has been a fantastic player for the U18s linking superbly well with Lewis Sirrell and Jake Fowler. Always dependable and rarely caught out of position. A vocal defender who talks to those around him, making their game better through his experience. I wish Lewis all the best as he looks to continue his career as a professional footballer, he clearly has the talent and mental attributes needed to play professionally. Just needs that lucky break.
