Adam Smith - ex Boro keeper
Now at Leicester. Anyone seen his recent comments on twitter?

"Not bitter about leaving Middlesbrough AT ALL... I signed for a bigger and better club ‪#lcfc‬ all the way"

"Wow getting loads of tweets off different Middlesbrough fans !! Didn't know the club had so many different fans ..."

Clearly he is bitter then.. glad we got rid.

He just sounds like a really immature kid that thinks he's hit the big time.... hope he enjoys his inevitable lower league career.

Someone ought to remind him where Leicester finished last season.

Andrew Taylor MK II.

Both playing for plastic clubs owned by dodgy Asian businessmen.

In all fairness to the lad he aint going to put down the club that he currently plays for. Boro had their reasons for letting him go and good luck to him.

Bigger? No. Better? No.

By all means big up your new club but don't slag off a side that finished above you last season. It makes you seem stupid. Smart kid anyway. Followed the corrupt Thai money before they pull out.

I understand that he's not going to put down the club he currently plays for but why feel the need to have a pop at his old club? Funny thing is, it's apparently because he's 'not bitter'. Wink

RE: Adam Smith - ex Boro keeper
You realise why he said what he did right?

He made a comment on Woodgates signing, airing his views and how he felt it could backfire because of his injury record to which he got a buvket load of abuse.

He then made a very silly comment, which he has deleted and then got a bucket load of abuse from some very educated Middlesbrough fans who had never seen the lad play yet told him he was crap, a failure and they had never heard of him.

Then earlier this morning he tweeted

Quote: Didn't mean to upset any Middlesbrough fans. I was at the academy nearly 10 years, learned a lot from great staff, good luck next season

Since then he has recieved more tweets from Boro followers.

Quote:didn't know you played for our academy #NeverHeardOfYou

Quote:dirty mackem b8stard a bigger n better club we finished above you #clueless

Quote:Anyone know who he is?

Quote:some kid who was dogshit at Boro. Was never going to make it with us as long as he had a hole in his arse!

Quote:ever heard of you - absolute creature #UTB

Quote:never heard of him. Was @adamsmith_1 the water boy?

Quote:who the hell are u... Small time Charlie... Absolute cretin

The tweets go on and on and on.

I've met Adam, I've said hello to him as a fan who he didnt know and he was a pleasure to talk to. Since he left the club he has remained in contact with me and even offered me players lounge tickets for me and a friend last season. Unfortunatly due to the travel times and having a a young daughter i said thank you but maybe next time.

Iv've also had the pleasure to see him play as an academy player for Boro, and if i remember rightly as a reserve also.

Seen him in a situation most wont ever as well, as a Middlesbrough player playing against his own side in a pre season friendly when Billingham didnt have a keeper. He agreed to play for Billingham so the game went ahead.

He said something he clearly regrets, water under the bridge. With Boro fans would stop showing themselves up. If you have not heard of him thats not his fault, its yours.

Yes, im mad about the stick he has faced, some of it deservedly so. A lot of it is pathetic though.

RE: Adam Smith - ex Boro keeper
Cheers for that Powlay.

Admittedly I heard about his comments, scrolled down his twitter page and just copied and pasted them into this thread. A bit stupid on my part to quickly create a thread without knowing what truly happened.

Either way though, his comments were uncalled for as was the abuse he was getting from Boro fans. That's part of the reason I think some footballers should be off twitter altogether, but that's a whole other argument.

Anyway, feel free to close this thread now. He's just a young lad who has said something stupid and now regrets it. We all make mistakes.

Powlay ... Thank you for making his tweets clearer.

Twitter is a great but unfortunately it attracts the keyboard warriors.
