Pompey handed 10-point deduction
So I for one have a deep hate for all things Pompy and as things stand it seems so does the football league.

"The Football League said on Thursday it will accept Pompey's membership provided whoever buys the club complies with a number of conditions, notably another points deduction." (Sky sports)

With the new fair play rules in and official one cant help but think if such a rule existed lets say 5 years ago the pompy chimes would still be in the premiership or at least strongly competing in the championship. Does anyone else share this view that pompy may of been safe if the fair play rules started earlier...........hell just think we would of never wasted 12+ million on Afonso Alves Idea.

My own opinion is Pompy will be relegated yet again this season and nothing would make me happier but and I say this gritting my teeth they played some of the best end to end football I've seen in the premiership when they got back up (apart from the last season) so I feel very sorry for them.

Anyway I'm done I rarely post threads just no one else had posted about this. bellow is the link.

discuss.

I don't agree with the way the club has been run over the years but the people that are suffering the most are the fans now, and it's not their fault. I really feel for them and wouldn't wish this situation on any club. Hopefully they manage to overcome this 10 point deduction.

RE: Pompey handed 10-point deduction
I'd love to see a fan-owned Pompey emerge. I feel dreadfully sorry for the fans. But the club has done too much damage to the community - businesses and charities left owed huge sums of money - to have too much sympathy for it, and through a succession of dodgy ownerships. Folk who were due money after the last voluntary agreement still went unpaid, then came the next one. It's just a royal mess.

RE: Pompey handed 10-point deduction
This is a very good read , and it makes you think that it could happen to most clubs.
