oneBoro Predictions League 2012-13 Season
Good Morning all,

It is with great pleasure that I confirm the details for how the 2012/2013 Season of the OneBoro Predictions League will run.

As last year this Predictions League is open to all members of oneBoro, and all newcomers are welcome as well as those who are familiar to the competition.

The season will officially start on Saturday 18th August 2012.

An article that you can predict on will be posted on Monday 1st August 2011, and you will have until 2.00pm on Saturday 18th August to post your predictions by. (Normally the fixtures article will be posted on the Monday immediately prior to the Saturday when matches are being held, but as this is the first week you will have an additional 7 days to post your predictions by).

Saturday 18th August til Saturday 17th November - Accumulated Scores

As last season all predictors will have their correct predictions from each week accumulated together to form one league table.

Points will be awarded as follows: 2 points for a correct fixture result, plus 1 point for each correct first goalscorer in all 10 matches. Note that this is a change from the system previously used when only 1 first goalscorer was required.

For example;
If Boro-unger gains 10 points in week 1, and 3 points in week 2. His total points after week 2 will be 13.

This format will continue up to and including the fixtures on Saturday 17th November 2012.

From Saturday 24th November - Matchplay

On Monday 19th November 2012 the league will be split into 2 smaller divisions (Division 1 and Division 2).

The split will be equal; The top half of the league will form Division 1, with the bottom half forming Division 2.

In the result of a tie, countback will be used to decide who will be in each Division (i.e. if Boro-unger and Welshy both finish with 51 points but only one place is available in Division 1, then Boro-unger will go up as his highest score in a week was 10, but Welshy's was only 9).

From Saturday 24th November 2012, each member will then predict against a different opponent from their Division each week (in exactly the same way as last year), until every member has played each other once, thus forming a final league table. The predictor who sits on top of Division 1 will be declared the overall champion.

The points system will work the same as before; 3 points if you beat your opponent, a point each for a draw, and nil poi! for a loss!

When two predictors are tied on points, unlike last season where we used a goal difference system to separate them, they will now first be separated by the goals scored column and if they still can not be separated then we will use goal difference.

As like last season there will be no end of season relegation/promotion, we wll purely start again in 2013/2014 with one league before splitting into 2 divisions.

Cup

A Cup involving all members will also take place which will be run by Kayleigh. This Cup will start at some point after we have split into 2 Divisions.

Articles

A fixture article will be published every Monday, a results article will be posted every Saturday evening.

In the main we will predict on Saturday fixtures. However, we will additionally predict on some Tuesday/Wednesday night fixtures.

Prizes

Prizes remain the same as last season. The top 3 in the Accumulated League will win a prize, alongside the top 3 in Division 1 and Division 2.

Note: Some prizes for 2011/2012 season are yet to be delivered - these being Boro Scarfs for 2nd and 3rd in Division 1 & 2 and 1st and 2nd in Division 3. Along with Gladgareth's prize for having the highest average weekly score in any Division. These Boro Scarfs will be sent out as soon as http://www.mfc.co.uk have Scarfs in their online shop again.

I wish I could, Ollie Wink

Not long to wait lads - if we get a nice set of friendly fixtures/and or Scottish fixtures (who I presume start their season prior to us) we will have some pre-season friendlies.

It wouldn't be the same without you Barticus, or Ollie or any of you Smile

RE: oneBoro Predictions League 2012-13 Season
Looking forward to it, not sure about the half a point thing, that will start to irk me a bit (I have a thing about .5 that really irritates me when it comes to stats and figures Tongue)

Got a bit of a chip on my shoulder due to defeat in the semi's at the Euro's and a terrible end to last seasons league, so I am gunning for blood this year Big Grin

Hi Prowler, would you prefer if I went 2 points for a correct prediction and 1 point for a correct first goalscorer?

Yep changed the points scoring system to 2 for a correct result, 1 for a correct first goalscorer.

No they didn't Maccarone, when I get my hands on the scarfs one is still marked for you. So if you can't find anyone who wants it on here - then I'll send it to you and you can either keep it or give it to a friend or family member Smile
