Flanks LM/RM
Bit puzzled about who will play on the wings this season.
IMHO this was most important area of the team to strengthen in the close season. Needed to attack down the wings when playing against defensive tactics at Home, and score more goals. So who do you think will play there this season. Ledesma is left footed, will he and Emnes be out wide this season. Not classical wingers. At some point we will play a 442, so would appreciate your input on who plays there this season. Assuming playing a flat 4-4-2, for this question |

RE: Flanks LM/RM
I think the wingers will be Haroun on the right and hopefully Carayol on the left. I think we will see more of Reach, Park and Halliday out there too this season. Especially after some of
The quality of Reach's deliveries today |

RE: Flanks LM/RM
I think Arca will be given a chance to play in front of Bennett to see how that works. Right will probably be Haroun at the start of the season although I'd love to see him in a more central role.

RE: Flanks LM/RM
Arca has always been involved in moggas plans. He is a good footballer and mogga recognises this and that's why he went out of his way to resign him. Good utility too, weather it be left back, wing back, centre mid, wide left.
Mcmanus we know is on the big bucks, but it doesn't look like he will be going anywhere, so why not bed him in? |

RE: Flanks LM/RM
Maybe you have Powlay
when me and tony went for a pint he said as much.. ok well maybe he didn't but... ooooh right sorry I dont have a direct line to mogga's bat phone.played him as left back today not the midfield role he was signed for, doesn't seem to fit the general mould of his teams, signed him last season true, but i presumed the contract negotiations we possibly due to contract length of 2 years being a year to long over the innitial stop gap when it looked as though we needed him. He's slow, his vision seems to have gone, he's a negative player (rarely looking to attack or the right passes) I honestly dont see anywhere that arca would fit in, except for a makeshift leftback backup like he played today. possibly today was to test to see if he does actually have any residual value to the club. I just dont see him being any more than a squad player if that. (22-07-2012 10:27 PM)Armster Wrote: Maybe you have Powlay imo Mogga re-signing him was down to the very possibility that he will play a far more central role in the midfield. iirc it's just the 1st friendly. A lot of stuff performances wise can only be taken with a pinch of salt. As for the assumed 4-4-2, I don't find it an issue to put Ledesma and Emnes on two ends. The mark of a good footballer is the ability to play in more than 1 position. Halliday is also a viable option whereas I see Haroun as a more central-focused mid. As for Reach and Park, I believe Mogga is trying blood them in gradually unless *** happens. Ironically enough, that's the main reason why youngsters like Downing and AJ managed to make the other clubs took notice. And Carayol...I don't think Bristol Rovers are prepared to let him go. Or at least I've yet to hear any breakthrough. I suddenly realised that next season, we will end up emulating Borussia Dortmund.
