Decisive changes at the Boro
Hi all,
Not sure how you all feel about what appears to be a significant influx of players at the Boro... Myself however is rather excited. I was somewhat negative towards Woody when we re-signed him but having seen his attitude and the other players follow I can't help but wonder how are are attracting all this talent? It isn't as if we are signing dross either, Mowbray seems to be both walking the walk and talking the talk. I am also unsure of a time in the past where we have brought in so many players so quickly. Or has Gibson decided that Mowbray needs to be set somewhat free in the transfer market? To finally be given his chance to mould a team into his own. It's hard not to be excited I suppose, every time I log onto Skysports I see a new player either undergoing a medical or signing for us. From what I can gather we could potentially bring in 10+ players before the 1st of September... that shows some serious intent from the club. So with all this in mind, are we going to do it this year? We will have one hell of a defence and mid-field, let's hope the strikers can do better than last season. Are we going to maybe struggle because of the amount of new players? or are we natrually going to set the league on fire due the the sheer amount of decent signings alone? Ok, they aren't global superstars but we have brought in seasoned players with tons of experience both abroad and in the premiership/champo. Players who have proven themselves at other clubs and over the course of their careers. We all know the Championship is a long campaign and more of a typical English league than the top flight but again I look at the players and their attitudes and have to wonder... it sure does feel different this time. |

RE: Decisive changes at the Boro
i think we will start badly, due to all the new signings, then 10 or so games in start playing better. Still to early to predict final position though

RE: Decisive changes at the Boro
Well like you I have been suprised at the amount of signings we have made so far.I was really expecting a few late signings around the start of the new season.
Mainly because of our debt and of course the saving of funds. In doin this I was expecting a bad start whilst the new ones gell with the old. But because we have done the complete opposite I am now expecting a good start what with pre season matches and training together for a number of weeks, hopefully we should be hitting the ground running. I won't predict our finishing position because last year I said top of the league. So you see why I am gonna keep my gob shut this season and just hope for a good one. ![]() http://alpha1-copd-forum.proboards.com/index.cgi |

RE: Decisive changes at the Boro
I think the deal for St. Ledger was more or less agreed but he came here on loan first. We then decided to terminate the arrangement and I believe we ended up paying around 1 million for his short stay here. Talk about wasting money.
