Boro+
Afternoon all,

Glad to see the lads did the job yesterday - these early cup rounds have a tendency to be banana skins but happy we saw it through. Incidentally I was following the #borolive on twitter as I was at the team GB vs Australia hockey at the olympics.

I have been umming and ahhing about getting boro plus since midway through last season. I logged onto the website today and saw that it's upto 50% savings pre-season. It says its £4.99 a month - is that a saving?

Also, anyone here actually use or subscribe to it? what generally is it like - highlights, interviews etc or is there any decent features that can persuade me. I know a fiver a month isn't a huge chunk but i'm on a bit of a budget. I guess they don't stream the live games...

Any feedback or thoughts on it would be greatly appreciated - the football league show depresses me with it's 20 second highlights!!

RE: Boro+
4.99 isn't a saving, thats the standard price. I know that if you buy a year subscription you'll get a decent saving, I paid 35 for mine, which is about 25 quid less than if I'd paid monthly. Not sure if that was a special renewal offer or is available to new customers.

In terms of the service, its up and down. The fact you get match day commentary there and only there is the only real reason I have it. The highlights are longer than the ones you get on BBC, though they normally don't go up until the monday. The interviews for the most part are the same as the ones you'll hear on BBC tees in the hour before the game starts.

Again, the main reason I have it is commentary and thats worth it for me, depends on if you feel happy enough to spend the money for that.

RE: Boro+
The highlights are generally a bit longer than the BBC highlights. Where it's normally 2 minutes or so for the BBC it's rare to see a highlights package that's less than 3 and a half minutes on Boro+, though I think this should be longer. There are also highlights stretching back quite far to when we still had Strachan in charge (not that you'd want to watch them!) and the reserve squad usually gets some highlights too.
That being said, the video quality is normally a bit naff though it's no worse than the BBC's. Also there's quite a few interviews on there that are generally around 5+ minutes each and last year we got a Mowbray interview and a player or two after each game towards the end of the season.
Live BBC Tees coverage is also available which is useful when you're not in the area. For only £4.50 a month if you pay by debit card it's a pretty decent service, though I can't help but feel that there seems to be something missing that would make it a great service

RE: Boro+
I was actually just coming on to ask a question about Boro+ myself. I am a subscriber and up until recently I have had no problems with the service. However the videos (highlights and interviews etc) don't seem to be playing on my Firefox browser. I've tried uninstalling adobe falsh like the site suggests and then reinstalling it but it still doesn't work. Strange thing is the videos work fine on internet explorer. Confused

Anyone having the same problem or similar?

RE: Boro+
I will no doubt come under some criticism here but wouldn't it be a decent of the club to offer season card holders Boro+ for half the price.

RE: Boro+
maybe half price for six months or so, something like that might work, i think they should work on improving the service first
