Mogga- Right or Wrong?
The second game of the season is now upon us and I have no doubt that we are all hoping for a better performance than what was witnessed on Saturday and hopefully a game in which we see Boro open their scoring account.
Which brings me to the on going saga of Mogga and his blatant stance concerning Scott McDonald, a striker that was free scoring preseason but as yet no where to be seen now that the bread and butter games have started. These are the games that count and to be honest I really felt that our lack of goals from last season had been addressed and we were going to hit the ground running. Ok we have only played one game but it is clear that certainly on this forum that there are many who are questioning Mogga and his management of Skippy and I sence an air of bemusement over the whole situation.. Yes Skippy can be frustrating at times and most of us have bemoaned him in the past but he can score and he is a striker and irrespective of his own personal feeling towards the man is Mogga right or wrong in the way he is simply blancking the man out of existance and with the potential of affecting results? Is the progression of Boro more important than one mans feelings against an individual? I am not having a moan at Mogga because time will tell but to be honest I really do think that he is wrong in this case and that it could very well spoil winning results. I would rather see Skippy involved or at least be on the bench as an option because to me Boro doing well and Boro scoring goals is paramount The forum members "Friend" |

RE: Mogga- Right or Wrong?
As I said in another thread, it all depends on what has actually happened. If it's minor then it's stupid and risky, if it's major then fair enough. We just don't know. What we do know is that they have previous and Celtic fans have warned us about Skippy's attitude.

RE: Mogga- Right or Wrong?
we don't really know whats gone on here, but at the end of the day we only have two out ad out stirkers fit, mcdonald and main, both of these could lead the line well although main is still young for that role, which leaves scotty, who was on fire pre season, i think him playing alongside ledesma could be a great partnership with ledesma's creativity and mcdonalds movement, for me as long as the fallout isn't too serious and just moga's way of forcing him out then i think its ridiculous man management and very unprofessional from mowbray.

Having seen this, you have to go for Mogga being in the wrong. I'm not gonna ask VB what the reason is, as I'm sure he cannot say, but I trust his judgement on this matter. IF it results in McDonald leaving and another striker of sufficient ability coming in on lower wages, I think we can say that it was a succesful, if morally bankrupt, strategy. But if we reach September the 1st and McDonald is still on our books and we're forced to start playing him then, I will be very angry at the way the club has handled this. |

RE: Mogga- Right or Wrong?
its not for us to say if its right or not, we don't get paid to do mogga's job. its his head on the line and if he feels justified in what he is doing then i have every faith in him. none of us have questioned him up to now with his pre-season decisions and none of us know the whole story. its only been one game and we are already quesioning things? if we had won our first game 4-0 everyone would be saying what a great idea not to involve him.

RE: Mogga- Right or Wrong?
Its *** if you ask me - he has scored pre season and looked pretty sharp. Even Tevez was welcomed back into the fold after disappearing for months on end!
All I can think is he has been caught shagging someones wife that was always an instant posting out in the army!

RE: Mogga- Right or Wrong?
Well I, and I think most, predicted him to be top scorer this season, he impressed in pre-season and did last pre-season too. If it wasn't for his injury last year I have no doubts that he would have equalled if not bettered Marvin's goal tally. As far as I'm concerned, if he's still a Boro player then he should be starting, our season is more important than Mogga's little personal battle with him.
