Boro V C Palace
Middlesbrough V Burnley (Npower Championship, 7.45PM)
Venue - The Riverside Stadium - Middlesbrough
Date: 21st Aug 2012
Referee: TBC

odds: (ladbrokes)
Boro: 4/5 Draw: 11/5 Palace: 3/1

Last time out:
Boro 3:2 Burnley
what a match this was, the first half never lived up to much in truth, quite often the crowd were reminded of the frustrating football boro played at home last year, passing the ball sideways and backwards within there own half making no progress up the pitch, however on the 36th minute mark there was a sudden upping of the tempo and boro started to press and pass with purpose which was a relief (mainly because the old woman next me kept going "oooohh nooooo" everytime the ball went backwards even if it was the only option, to my annoyance this went on for the whole match Sad ) unfortunately as we pressed burnley hit us while we were most vulnerable, george friend was dragged inside (by some weird forcefield it seemed for the duration of the match) and allowed a free cross for charlie Austin to head home. however no more than a minute later a fabulous strike from nicky bailey put boro level. half time was soon upon us.
then we socred then they scored then we scored again Smile

Form: (latest on the right)
Boro: W-L-W

Palace: W-L-L (including a 4-1 thrashing from bristol city last night)

Injury news:

Boro: Kevin thomson and muzzy carayol were both left out of the Burnley game as a precaution and should be fit for game as long as there are no problems in training there are no suspensions for the game but boro frontman Lucas Jutkiewiczis out he is expected to return in three weeks time. Joe Bennett played in an U21 game on monday and has tweted that he should be back for saturday. emnes will also be assesed aftr picking up a foot injury against barnsleh

RE: Boro V C Palace
I'd start the same team as last night, try and get some consistency.

Also, 2-0 Boro.

RE: Boro V C Palace
I am going for 3-0 to The Boro - Palace are leaking goals and our tails will be up in front of a 20000+ crowd bathed in late summer sunshine and alcohol Smile

I on the other hand am stuck offshore for the next 3 weeks! Sad

RE: Boro V C Palace
Id be tempted with the same team again, keep a bit of momentum and consistency going.

Now we just need to score the tap ins as well as the long range blinders!

RE: Boro V C Palace
Providing the players carrying knocks recover, I'd play this:

--------------Steele-------------
Hoyte--Woody--Williams--Bennett
--Bailey--McEachren--Leabbitter--
-Reach------------------Carayol-
---------------Main--------------

Then give Thomson some game time at some point.

Prediction 3-1 Boro, and after last night I'd be hoping for 18,500 attendance.

IT'S EINDHOVEN!!!!!

RE: Boro V C Palace
I agree with consistancy and am more than happy for our players to take shots from wherever to test their keeper which may result in a simple tap in!

Always a hard game against Palace and am sure they beat us at home last time did they not? But as they are leaking goals we need to drive home our advantage and go for them hard!

I wouldnt change the team, Bennett a place on the bench, same with others returning from injury if they are fit enough.

RE: Boro V C Palace
Hoping I can get to the game on Saturday again, in process of moving though so might not make it which will be bloody annoying as I'm not in the area enough to get to many home games all season.

I'd like to see us play the same way we did last night with McEachran pulling all the strings going forward. Hopefully after a few more days with us by then he'll have found his range a bit more and be picking out players even more so than last night.

No to Arca though. Don't really need an explanation.

We'll win 3-1 with Main bagging a brace. If his work rate is anything near what it was last night on Saturday he'll deserve a couple and hopefully grabs them. Can't see Palace being a tough test, but they'll be up for it and in need of a good result after leaking more goals last night.

Going with 19k for Attendance. You never know, if we win 2 on the bounce in exciting fashion we may start to break the 20k mark soon regularly!
