Boro V Millwall (A)
well it seems my matchday threads are bringing us the results so far! and some pretty good goals at that, so i put it all down to me
![]() so, here we are the matchday thread for millwall. Boro V Millwall Npower Championship 1st september 2012 12:45 PM KO @ The Den last time out: boro were away to gillingham in the cup, as ali described it "nearly in france" so it was a nice 5 and a half hour journy down there for fans and players. the team selection was an odd one, mainly resting players and many of the oneboro members found it challenging to work out formation and positions (me included who managed to put park in my team twice). anyway, that was all beforehand, as the game kicked off middlesbrough threatened the gills from the off with their swift passing and blistering pace, getting a breakthrough through muzzy carayol who decided he would simply charge right at the gillingham defence with his pace and scare them all to death to make them simply run away. he then calmly slotted his finish into the bottom corner. the first half was more of the same (although less of the muzzy scaring people and scoring) the boro created chance after chance but yet again marv and others failed to put them away, 1-0 it remained at half time. in the second half, i can't really remember too much as i was playing fifa for a fair while of it and it never really had my full attention. so, from what i think i heard, it started off well with boro pressing again like they did in the first half until around 60 minutes when we made a couple of subs taking off the pace which had threatened them so far, then we became less of a threat, then a potentially bad injury to or skipper occured leaving us temporarily down to 10 men, after around 75 the gils decided to throw the kitchen sink at us, taking off a full back and bringing on a striker, it was in the last few minutes when middlesbrough took advantage of this when cammy park scored a delightful chip over the gills keeper who watched it float over the top of hime and into the net. Final score: 2-0 form: latest result last Boro: W-l-W-W-W Millwall: D-L-W-L millwall are in poor form at the moment having lost to crawley town on penalties in the first round of the coc and only pickg up 3 points in the league so far this year. |Boro on the other hand are in great form winning all three of their last games. Odds (ladbrokes) Boro: 6/4 Draw: 11/5 (has been in all of my threads, weird) Millwall: 6/4 basically ladbrokes can't decide who will win. injury news (dramatic music): Boro: well we'll start with the pbvious ones, bailey, jutkiewicz are both definately out, i would have thought williams would be out after being carried off against the gills, but nothing has been confirmed of the extent of the injury, thomson will probably stub his toe or something like that (or lose a fight against a treadmill), erm don't think theres anyone returning, joe bennet should be fit but doubt he'll even be our player, emnes was taken off after 60 minutes last night to keep him nice and daisy, as was carayol,so they both sould be fine. oh yeah, also main wasnt in te squad last night so he might be injured, god knows whats up with woody, probably just rested (crosses fingers). Millwall: James henry is injured, twisted knee ligaments (ouch). talking points the usual ones No longer in bishop |

Think it will be a tough game. 1-1
Maybe Zemmama in for Carayol, depends how fit Carayol is. I think maybe this line up: ------------------------- Steele ------------------------- ------------------Hines----- Woodgate------------------- --- Hoyte ------------------------------------- Friend --- --------------- Leadbitter ----- McEachran --------------- --- Reach ---------------Haroun-------------- Carayol---- -------------------------Miller---------------------------- |

---------------Steele---------------
--Hoyte--Hines--Woodgate--Friend-- --------Leadbitter--McEachran------ ---Reach------Ledesma----Carayol-- ----------------Miller--------------- Subs: Leutwiler, Parnaby, Smallwood, Arca, Main, Williams, Park Still a strong line up despite injuries. I've left out Emnes because I don't see him being with the club come Saturday. Bennett I am not sure about but I feel Friend has done enough to keep his place. Think this will be a close one and don't see too many goals. 1-1 or 1-0 for either team but I reckon we can pull it off ![]() I reserve the right to put Maynard/Adomah/Rhodes/Santa Cruz/Owen in Saturday morning.
