Rhys Williams
Hi there,

Saints fan here (obviously). We're linked with a £6m bid for Williams.

Interested to know your thoughts and opinions on him, as I don't know a great deal on his qualities..

cheers,

RE: Rhys Williams
a) hes just gotten probable ankle ligament damage so he wont be going anytime soon
b) double it and add a load of clauses and Billy Sharp and you might have a deal.

RE: Rhys Williams
Sure he's out long-term? The mirror journo seems to think it's only a 3 week job.

We may be able to do a deal on Sharp..

RE: Rhys Williams
No ones sure yet, he's still being assesed, but it reallyyyy didnt look good.

But 6mil is nowhere near enough to get him. Hes not long signed a contract extension and hes our most prized possession.

RE: Rhys Williams
So, what sort of player is he? Good on the ball, quick?

RE: Rhys Williams
Williams is easily worth £10m+ and £6m is almost insulting!

He's cool as a cucumber. Often heard him be referred to as "Rolls Rhys" he's calm on the ball, is good technically and is by far and away our best player, imo!

RE: Rhys Williams
Hes a centre back mainly. But can play on the right side of defence or in midfield. Very very classy, calm, assured on the ball, reads the game very well and rarely makes a mistake. Also has a good range of passing for a defender and isnt bad in the air either.

Oh, and forgot to mention, hes our captain too.

RE: Rhys Williams
Cheers.

This is where we've got it from by the way - http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/t...ms-1285965

Alan Nixon, who wrote the article, seems to have very strong connections @ Saints as he's been on the ball with everyone of our signings this summer prior to them being announced.

I reckon we could be tempted to push up our bid, as we really need a new CB.

RE: Rhys Williams
A classy central defender who could fit into a Southampton style team seamlessly.

Edit:
I fixed your post. Smile
