England Squad
hi

i see that the England Squad has been announced today and that a certain Steele is not in it even though we have had a good start to the season. i think its more frustration than anything for me as Butland is in there yet Birmingham have been poor so far.

before anyones starts with the its only 3 games and he is long term etc im just saying on recent form surely Steele is worth a look?

RE: England Squad
I've already made my arguments about this. England players arent selected based on form, fact. Reputation and media are all that matters.

4 CB's, 4 CM's 5 full backs and 5 wingers I think the count was, sure'y it should be the other way around? Confused

yeah it seems a strange one that? why would the squad need more wide players than central ones?

RE: England Squad
I deleted my post to rephrase it but realised that it would take too long, basically, too many wide players, not enough central and in all honesty, some of the players included need to hang up their international boots.

RE: England Squad
i think a fresh start was need after the euro's don't get me wrong i never thought we would win it and its not an off the cuff statement but we always seem to hang on to 'experienced' players for so long and make such a big deal when they are left out of the squad, why?

its a case of not good enough anymore or your not on form sorry mate.

What are you basing this on? Reading a few media articles? Because he's hardly played at a decent level and he wasn't great in the Olympics and so far in the Champ he has made a few mistakes, a couple leading to goals. I'm not saying I definitely think Steele is better but Butland is only slightly better than him at best. I've been very impressed with how Steele has commanded his ares so far this season.
