Boro v Blackpool (A)
Apologies for the lack of opening post, I have spent the last few days hammered to get over my ejection from university!

Right, let's begin then boys and girls!

Middlesbrough, we're an enigma. Win, lose, lose, win, lose, draw, draw, win, win, win (We're gonna win the league), lose. That's usually our form, isn't it?

Meanwhile it seems Blackpool are just winning, all the time. Like, all the time. They're quite good really.

History
The last time Boro won at Bloomfield Road was in 1986/87 season. On the 21st of March the following team were put out against Blackpool,
Pears
Cooper
Mowbray
Parkinson
Slaven
Stephens
Hamilton
Kernaghan (Subbed for Gill)
Kerr
Pallister
Ripley

The local lads, the team that opened the season at Hartlepools Victoria Ground.

The game finished 1-0 thanks to a Stephens goal in the 53rd minute.
We also played Blackpool at home in the FA Cup first round, winning 3-0 from a Slaven hattrick (18, 70, 76) whilst in the league we lost 3-1 (Stephens, 76). We've lost three times at Bloomfield road since then.

Fact
Johnny Vincent became only the 19th Boro player to ever be sent off since 1899 after a red card away at Blackpool in 1972, we lost the match 3-1, Vincent in the 35th minute was our scorer.

Thanks again Vector. I can see Friend really struggling with Ince and Phillips' if he plays anything like he did against Lee Martin on Saturday who is a tricky winger and they are even better than him!. Im suspecting Mowbray will play 3-5-2 which works well against teams with pace and quality down the wings or even tweek it into the 3-4-3 formation we played against Gillingham.

2 quality players and on their day most teams will struggle to contain them. Sad that we could have signed Ince but didnt follow it up. Watch Liverpool buy him for £8 million after letting him go.

Oh no I sort of wish I didn't know that lol. Half jokingly if I was Mowbray id try and sign any winger that Holloway was after(like Wigan plundered us for years) because he is the best manager at picking out rough diamonds like Ince and Phillips for modest amounts and turning them into Premier league quality players.

Ince would have been very cheap aswell as I seem to remember he left under freedom of contract so it would only have been a modest fee with lots of add ons, appearances and sell on fees.
