The forgotten man!
Realised that Matthew Bates name has not been mentioned for a long time so thought I would ask does anyone know how his rehab is going and at what stage is he now in terms of training (if he is anywhere near that)

Also hands on heart how many actually expect him to wear a Boro shirt again in a professional capacity?

It is difficult to comment without knowing the actual condition of Bates but as I posed the question I guess I will be the first to answer by saying that I do not expect to see him playing for the Boro again but hey life is full of surprises!

RE: The forgotten man!
Have said all along i would do anything to resign batesy. He's better than Williams, bikey and hines in his role by a long way. In fact, when he's playing he's probably the best defender in this league. He'll never be a forgotten man for me, I've mentioned him overtime a defender was linked to us all summer.

RE: The forgotten man!
I dont think he will re-sign for Boro tbh unless it suits the club. He is a high risk signing with his injury record even Boro.

RE: The forgotten man!
Unless we ship McManus, would we even have room for him?

Downsouth for El Presidente!

RE: The forgotten man!
Not sure he's the forgotten man as such, he seems to crop up atleast a few times a week.

I agree that we should be atleast offering him a deal, but it would have to be a pay as you play deal as he is a major risk. Should he want to pursue a safer contract elsewhere, best of luck to him.
