Boro V Derby
So sorry that Glado's run has come to an end and though Kayleigh was due to do the next M/D thread she has not been on site for quite some period of time so will get the next thread up and running.

There will be probably many annoyed and frustrated members wondering just the hell happened at the Leicester game and questioning both Mogga's team selection and tactics so it is pretty much clear to me that if we stick to totally defensive midfield with no width agaist Derby and taking into account new injuries we will probably suffer the same anguish as todays result against Leicester.

With a negative attitude towards a game we will not see The Riverside increase in capacity with home support because last seasons glaring mistakes are obvious again and there is a real sense of deja vu.

Historically we are not bad against Derby at home so lets hope that there will be big improvements in general play and Management nounce when we play them.

We do blow hot and cold and gut feeling is that we will get our first draw of the season and will not be surprised if it is a 0-0 result.

RE: Boro V Derby
Still think Emnes is a super important part of the team. All criticisms about consistency are, of course, totally legit. But he has a spark that none of our other players have.

Also I would like friend to be more alert defensively. As for Leadbitter, I think he is just a tidy passing midfielder, he lacks the creativity of Baily or McEachran.

My preferred team would be EXACTLY the same as Magooder's.

Arsenal wont spend more than 16 million pounds on 1 player this transfer window. Big Grin

was just going to post my desired team, but it would have been this, so i wont bother.

after my frankly INCREDIBLE run of two games (blackburn and preston) where i correctly predicted the right scoreline, leicester cruelly brought an end to my ambitions to become the next footballing mystic meg with their late winner... Sad But i will attempt to regain my composure, re-calibrate my looking glass so it can see past the 89th minute and predict a splendid 2-0 win to boro! Smile

i can't see how we can fail to beat derby tbh. they never fair very well at the riverside.

One lion on a shirt,
Carling cup still gleaming,
No more years of hurt,
'Cos Mogga's got us dreaming!

RE: Boro V Derby
I like the look of Magooder's team.

Despite the defeat yesterday, I'm feeling quite optimistic. As has been mentioned on the Leicester match thread, there are doubts about both their goals (offside for the first, dubious freekick + massive deflection for the second).

I'm sure both TM and the lads will be feeling a certain amount of righteous indignation and will be looking to make up for the weekend's disappointment. Add to that Derby's poor away record so far and I can see Boro getting all 3 points...

...provided his team selection injects a bit of pace and width into the team, or at least doesn't leave LJ isolated up front.

One other thing: Derby are away at Forest today, so they'll have had a day less to recover. If we can't beat a knackered Derby side at home then we've got no hope of finishing in the play-offs.

Don't recall where I was,
When I realised life is just a game,
The more seriously I took things,
The harder the rules became...

Think you're spot on there mate. Although do we know if Reach/Emnes are fit? Hoping that at least one of them is ready for this game and if one isn't then I'd swap Williams in.

Watching the Forest v Derby match now and we really should beat them, they're an alright side but not much more than that.
