Mowbray's Team Selection & tactics
Notwithstanding injuries, I think our manager got it wrong today. One up front and five across the middle handed the intiaitive to Leicester, especailly as we had 4 similar mifielders lacking pace.
Juke was isolated until young Luke Williams came on, and the one-paced midfield ofen bypassed.
I've been an advocate of Mowbray, but can't help but think he over complicates things, and his selections seem strange - Bailey left m/f?

RE: Mowbray's Team Selection & tactics
I personally don't mind Bailey as a left midfield option IF we had a natural winger on the other side, which wedont even have at the club.

It all comes back to the fact that Adomah was available in the summer for less than we sold Bennett, and we decided to hold out until we freed up more funds in the shape of McDonald or Emnes. Massive mistake, made even worse by Carayols injury. Again we went into the season wtih no more than one recognised winger, and again we're gonna be made pay for it.

RE: Mowbray's Team Selection & tactics
I think its too early to question his tactics, I remember reading an article saying that we should judge him over the season not over a few games, and I think thats fair, he makes decisions and sometimes there right, sometimes there not, no manager is perfect

It's not too early considering it's EXACTLY the same as last year.

4-3-3, 4-5-1, 4-4-2. Formation changes each and every home game.

No consistency.

I think this is rubbish if we judge him over the whole season and he continues like this then we will have at lest another year in the championship!

totally agree with you ,,,all ive seen so far this season is the same as last season ,,, no bite up front ,,wrong formation, wrong players in team ,, or on the bench ,,, and the biggest for me is the fact that we didnt spend any of the bennett money that really boils my *** .

RE: Mowbray's Team Selection & tactics
I'm going to try and shed a bit of positivity on our current mid-table form. We are missing and have been missing lots of key players so far this season. I know it's frustrating that we often look at our starting lineup and think "well we won't win this one" but I do think today Mowbray's hand was forced. Carayol, Reach and Emnes being out injured takes away A LOT of our cutting edge we might have up front.

We've struggled massively with injuries this season. Thomson, Bailey and Jutkiewicz have all already faced long spells on the sidelines.. I would even go as far to say as they are just re-settling into the side at the moment. They won't be at their best just yet in my opinion, and thus the TEAM won't be at their best. Muzzy, Williams, Main and possibly Woodgate could now be long term injuries as well.

January will be a HUGE month for us. As far as I'm aware if we stay within touching distance of the playoffs until then I will take that as a massive plus. With Rhys, Lionel Muzzy, possibly Woodgate returning and the possible re-signing of Matthew Bates around that time we are well and truly looking at four key players coming back into the fold. And let's not also forget the Joe Bennett money is there to be spent if anything needs addressing in the winter.. *cough* RIGHT WINGER/STRIKER *cough*.

It can't be easy right now for everyone involved in our club with the amount of injuries we seem to be picking up every week. But, as does normally happen, luck evens itself out over the course of a season. We just have to hope that we are there or thereabouts come January.. Keep the Faith!

RE: Mowbray's Team Selection & tactics
Ledesma, McDonald, Halliday, Park, Williams. All viable attacking options who get overlooked. No excuses. Our central midfield is packed, no excuses there. Without Rhys and Woody, we still have Hines, Mick and Bikey, decent enough.

Despite injuries, we still have a bloody fgood team, no disrespect but blaming injuries is a very poor excuse because we have some more than capable players to cover.

RE: Mowbray's Team Selection & tactics
Magooder good effort but I disagree.

Just sticking to the injuries...

Carayol and Emnes are big losses true. Replace a striker, prowler I know, and a right winger with zemmamma and bailey a dcm and an attacking right center mid will obviously unbalance the team.

Carayol options ledesma, park, halliday
Emnes options williams, miller? Is he injured or just shut, Skippy

It's ridiculous having three out of 5 primary strikers injured and to leave your last striker out in the cold because of a spat. Absofkinglutely ridiculous. It's completely unjustifiable in my view.

This...

But in addition what does it say to our youth, if they can't play now then when?
