Trouble at Mill?
Just read this in todays Gazette regarding unhappy players leaving the club and possible January transfers.

Though no names mentioned I wonder if he is referring to the likes of McManus Scottie and Halliday??

Eugh, looks like things aren't as rosy as we all seemed to think pre-season. The initial hype for this season and expectation is slowly dripping away and you can tell by the tone of posts on the forums, the fans are losing faith slowly. The players aren't buying into a squad philosophy.

Appears we are actually a bit of a mess still.

RE: Trouble at Mill?
Why would Mogga discuss all of that, and then say "But none of that is happening, everyone is happy". He's either gone mental or thinks we're mental.

IT'S EINDHOVEN!!!!!

RE: Trouble at Mill?
Good point Gary indeed why would he say that?

Think we all know his honeymoon period is over and he will now be judged from this point forward

RE: Trouble at Mill?
Does anybody think that may be TM is getting a bit fed up with millions going out the door and nothing coming in ? Im sorry but MFC,s product is its team and you cant keep selling your better players and either not replacing them or replacing them with crap. I know we,ve got money problems but SG needs to give TM money to build ,, we all know that some of the players TM has pulled in do nothing to improve this squad ,,,, and our squad is paper thin . Like i said the team will be what makes MFC money so we need to spend and SG needs to pull money from somewhere.

Talking of money, does anyone know what the current rules are in relation to the financial fair play stuff? I was under the impression Gibson can't just put money in now. It has to be within the clubs profits? Or at least he can only put a certain amount in and based on our profits/expenditure, this was already taken up by wages.

I'm quite surprised that Mowbray has come out and said this because he talks about team affairs staying internal (McDonald saga) yet then goes out and puts what I would call negative press like this out there. Is he upsetting his own apple cart?

RE: Trouble at Mill?
Don't think there much in that article tbh. Mowbray is just taking a very pragmatic approach to the transfer question and he is being open about it. Basically he is just saying that he will not stand in the way if a player is unhappy and want to leave, and there is no problem in that. And if that is the case he will replace said player with someone else. And I don't think it's a secret that senior players in their prime years like McManus and McDonald would like to see a little more action.

I'm more puzzled about this quote: “You have to be ready, otherwise you can’t sell. Why would you weaken your team when you don’t have to?" Why didn't he strenghten the team more when Bennet was sold for a decent fee. If Friend gets injured we are screwed!

BD, spot on, this actually annoyed me so much.

If we NEEDED to sell bennett, then we wouldnt have signed the players we did on the wages they are on. He's totally made a hypocrite of hmself and the club with that statement. And it annoys me endlessly seeing as that money invested wisely could be the difference between promotion and mid table mediocrecy.

I'm with you on that

We don't have any financial advantage over other teams and it's pretty sensible we should sell if receiving right offer and remain composure over getting a new player. Our team are better off with Friend coming and Bennett going in an opposite way. So there is not any urgent need for us to add a new player. I don't think there will be many players like Carayol and Friend available at a v. bargaining price which is affordable to us in one transfer window.

RE: Trouble at Mill?
Totally baffled by what is being said on this thread.
After reading that piece all I see is that he has stated quite honestly that if players are unhappy and believe they can find better clubs and these clubs put bids in that he is happy with and he as a replacement lined up he will let them leave.
So whats the problem with that.
Unhappy players are bad players we all know that.
Yes I think its common knowledge now that he is unhappy with McManus and McDonald and would like them gone relieving the club of high wage earners.
Halliday I feel will become a major asset if he stays.
I think people are running away with this idea that Boro belong in the PL.but really we are just an average championship team that will have highs and lows all season but finish middle table. If we are luckily enough to get into the playoffs then that extra gate money will help a little.
Mogga is a decent manager for the club we are and he's doing a decent job.
The last thing I would expect is a miracle from him and Boro get promotion.
