RE: Player Sponsorship
(10-10-2012 02:32 PM)Andy the smog hunter Wrote:  As some of you may have seen Boro have relaunched their player sponsorship scheme. With the permission of the powers that be - VB and others I thought it might be fun to run a competition with the end result of oneBORO can sponsor a player...

The competition would need a bit of support and wouldn't be free - as the forum would need to cover the cost of the sponsorship, which starts at £325 + VAT (£390) for an away shirt and £800 + VAT (£1000) for a home shirt
The proposed competition would go along the lines of...

Donate £10 to the cause and you get an entry to the competition to win at the very least:

*An exclusive lunch event (for you and a guest) at the Riverside Stadium, including representation from the first-team squad (For home shirt this goes up to you plus 3 guests)
*A signed and framed shirt

To obtain this it would need 41 entry's to cover this and payment costs (Using paypal card payment) The more entrants, the better player we could sponsor and possibly look at home sponsorship rather than away.

Entries of 41 would do a away shirt and 107 would cover home shirt sponsorship

It would be a great way to promote the best Boro forum online - and also may help the forum gain a sponsor...

for more info about the player shirt sponsorship scheme see - http://www.mfc.co.uk/page/tickets/Player...23,00.html

I would suggest any surplus monies any competition if run would be donated to a charity close to the clubs heart - either the Gary Parkinson or Findlay Cooper charities.

If you think this is a good or bad idea then feel free to tell me!

The current list of avaliable shirts and players is as follows:

Justin Hoyte Home & Away
Andre Bikey Home & Away
George Friend Home
Merouane Zemmama Home & Away
Stephen McManus Home & Away
Grant Leadbitter Home & Away
Kevin Thompson Home
Marvin Emnes Away
Emmanuel Ledesma Home & Away
Seb Hines Home & Away
Mustapha Carayol Home
Luke Williams Home & Away
Adam Reach Away
Richard Smallwood Home & Away
Faris Haroun Home & Away
Ishmael Miller Home & Away
Scott McDonald Home & Away

I will also add I would be happy to enter up to 4 times at £40 to get the ball rolling!

I think it would be a great way to support the club and raise the profile of this great forum!

id be happy to put a tenner in

RE: Player Sponsorship
Just 36 more entries to find then... come on people of oneBORO - a chance to own a piece of signed club merchandise and a meal at the club. Plus we swell (only by a small amount but every little helps) the clubs coffers!

RE: Player Sponsorship
Great to have your backing VB! I will PM you about it...

So we just need 32 more entries before we can buy an away shirt package, which is more likely!!

RE: Player Sponsorship
I'll donate £20 to this, since I'm mainly skint atm. Would have loved to offer more, especially as it would raise the profile of the site (although I hope it doesn't attract the facebook fan retards! Harsh but fair I feel)

If I win the competition I'll probably hold a second competition to see who gets the lunch, as Australia is a bit of a commute. I'd get the signed shirt sent to my home in NI though, no way I'd miss out on that for when i come home Big Grin

I also don't have a paypal account, is it difficult to sort out?
