Boro vs Hull City
![]() Date: 23rd October 2012 Venue: Riverside Stadium Kick-off: 7:45pm TEAM NEWS Probably the best news is that Jonathan Woodgate came through the Brighton game without any problems. Minor niggles for Kevin Thomson, Luke Williams and Justin Hoyte means their fitness will be assessed as late as possible before this game. Still no chance of seeing long-term casualties Jutkiewicz, Zemmama, Carayol or Rhys Williams any time soon. No known injury issues for Hull, as yet. MATCH PREVIEW This should prove to be an interesting tie, with both teams just starting to find some form, recording back-to-back wins in their last two games. Both teams have 19 points from 11 games, but Hull sit in 6th place, above 7th placed Boro, by virtue of superior goal difference. The hosts have a good home record, while the visitors' away record is distinctly mixed. Neither side has a particularly good goal difference, meaning the only guarantee is that goals will be scored. The result is anyone's guess. Going from the head to head stats, the hosts should be favourites to win, but Boro have a habit of of bucking trends. Tigers boss Steve Bruce will be equally keen to extend his side's unbeaten run to 3 games. MATCH FACTS BORO HOME: W3 D1 L1 F10 A7 HULL AWAY: W2 D1 L2 F5 A6 Head to Head Boro have played Hull a total of 55 times, 26 times at home and 28 away. Of the 26 home games, Boro have won 18, Hull 3 and 5 games have ended in draws. Boro - Biggest home win over the Tigers was a 5-1 thrashing in 1955/56 season. - Biggest home win this season is the 2-0 win over Ipswich. - Most goals scored at home was in the 3-2 win over Burnley. Hull - Have one of the tightest defences on their travels, conceding just 6 goals in 5 games. - Biggest score away from home was their 3-2 win at Leeds. - Ones to Watch Top scorer Jay Simpson is Hull's main goal threat this season, with 4 goals in 11 league games. Recent signing Nick Proschwitz scored a brace in their 2-1 win over Ipswich. The likes of Matty Fryatt and Robert Koren are also capable of getting among the goals. Marvin Emnes is Boro's joint top scorer this season with 4 goals. His likely partner Scott McDonald will be looking to add to his solitary goal so far. The likes of Bailey and Leadbitter will provide the midfield firepower. Don't recall where I was, When I realised life is just a game, The more seriously I took things, The harder the rules became... |

RE: Boro vs Hull City
I think it was very interesting reading Mogga's comments about The Amex Stadium being a full house and that he hoped that the same could happen at The Riverside ok we know this will not happen due to the capacity and for all the reaons we have previously discussed BUT if he wants to partially achieve that goal then he knows full well that the fans want to see a winning team at home and playing decent football along the way.
Hull are a itsy bitsy type of team and can blow hot or cold whereas Boro HAVE to be red hot on the day and simply blow them away. With so many games coming up and with so many injuries I really do believe that we can not afford to LOSE this game and that a win is vitally important. I think that the next two home games could go a long way to definning our season! The forum members "Friend" |

RE: Boro vs Hull City
This would be the perfect time for the club to offer a deal on the Hull and Bolton games, Both games for £30 or £35.
We need to build on yesterdays win and get more fans into the Riverside to cheer the lads on. Other Championship clubs were offering deals yesterday but yet again Anthony Vickers brilliant blog about ticket pricing seems to have fallen on deaf ears by the club. |

I think the Sunderland game could incite some more interest in attendances, but the club need to react to positive results.
I fancy us for this one, i think Steve Bruce is very tactically inept. |

Two games on the cheap absolutely confirms a top roaring crowd and quality atmosphere, it's a shame nothing gets done about it, the additional atmosphere will be nothing but a positive. The extra fans will make up the loss of regular ticket prices. Going to be a tough game, both going in with a win and both sitting on 19 points. Just talked to a Hull fan on Twitter and he said they too are struggling with first team injuries and failed to put together even a respected sub bench. (Havn't looked into it just took his word for it) I can't wait to see Bikey boss the pitch! Add me on Twitter

RE: Boro vs Hull City
games against hull always seem to be exciting.
will be interesting to see how we counter the 3-5-2 they've been playing recently if they set out that way. lets hope scotty can get another first half hat trick against them again! what a game that was. We're the website, We're the website, We're the website red army! One lion on a shirt, Carling cup still gleaming, No more years of hurt, 'Cos Mogga's got us dreaming! |

RE: Boro vs Hull City
Well, I'm more optimistic about this one than I was the Brighton game. My heart says a win, but my head says the last time I predicted a win we ended up drawing with Derby.
Hull certainly have enough about them to give us problems. Oh, sod it, I'll go 2-1 Boro. Don't recall where I was, When I realised life is just a game, The more seriously I took things, The harder the rules became... |

RE: Boro vs Hull City
I hope we can carry forward some momentum, the optimist in me thinks that all these injuries, plus the reintroduction of Skippy, will help pull the group together, and two wins won't do any harm to that. Plus Reach is back to add some penetration from midfield which we've lacked at home. I think we'll win, 2-0.
