Stadium configuration
http://anthonyvickers.boroblogs.co.uk/20....html#more

Mentioned in the above link, Steve Gibson and co are considering changing stadium configuration round. Red faction get a special mention for a possible move behind the south stand, and I've got to say they were superb on Tuesday, really well supported and maybe they feel they could expand? Where would that leave away fans? Should we we looking at closing the top section of the east stand and moving everyone down?

RE: Stadium configuration
I'd love to see everyone closer to the pitch but in reality the shelter and view from the upper tiers are far better. As a group we'd be all ears to any potential move but personally I'd say the only natural alternative to our current home would be the north stand, all the 'singers' in one location would probably boost the atmosphere.

RE: Stadium configuration
I would love the Riverside to get behind the bid to bring standing back into top level football, currently writing my dissertation on the subject and the ticket prices in the standing area could be as cheap as what they have made the tickets for the Sheffield Wednesday game! The argument with its not safe is on that has clearly been shown to one that doesn't really excisit with German football bringing in the rail system, there is even a few other ways it could be done! Taylor report said about football should cost no more than £5 to watch and even with inflation it should still only be about £12 so why not get standing back at the riverside a lot safer than standing in an area with seats

Wouldnt you want to be in the south stand behind the goal

If we could fill a few blocks aye yea it could work but just don't think we can pull them numbers yet. We'd have to see what the club and others think first.

It could be chicken and the egg. If you moved behind the goal rather than being stuck in a corner you might attract a few more. Maybe from the north stand

RE: Stadium configuration
I agree B53, it could backfire on the atmosphere that the RF bring to that Corner. If the numbers cant be pulled it could A) look like the RF are isolated B) If they were isolated, numbers would have to be brought in to fill that section which could lead to moaning from other fans who dont really want to be in that section.

However I do feel that it is a step forward.

RE: Stadium configuration
We could put the away fans near the south east corner. Sort of how Leicester put their away fans to keep behind their goals for their fans. Id like us to leave a few top rows empty to make the fans more clustered together nearer to the pitch because the atmosphere is a key part to match enjoyment so hopefully improving the atmosphere from changing the stadium configuration will lead more fans attending games.

RE: Stadium configuration
talking of bringing standing back, we stood for the whole game today, not a word was said by the stewards, would love to see the RF back in the north stand, atm you get two groups chanting, they can barely be heard at the other end of the stadium, bringing them together would boost the noise levels and make the atmosphere better!

No longer in bishop
