FM13: Network Game

Hey,

I'm not entirely sure if this is possible but i think it would be interesting and enjoyable (can't think of a better way of describing it ) if we all started a network game of foot man?

Just a suggestion.. What do you guys think?

It is possible (obviously not at the moment till the full game comes out)

however large scale network games are a logistical nightmare with everyone needing to be on at the same time to play properly and get full enjoyment out of it.

I dont see why it is a logistical nightmare tbh. theres many FM type online games out there that do this En mass. I'd say if FM brought out an online version with their main game it'd e cool, it could run automatically on online servers maybe 2-3 games a week auto selecting your tactics on predetermned tactics you could setup etc... this way you could easily have community type setups or a bunch of generic games. either way, i dont think this has been setup by the FM peoples so I think this is a non-starter sorry atok

logistical nightmare in the fact that all previous fm's have been an absolute nightmare to get an online game going, requiring hamachi just to be able to connect to another persons game, then you factor in that an online game runs far far slower than a normal game and that if you have 3-4 people all wanting to play you then have to find a time that suits all parties involved.

Although i will say that this years fm runs completely through steam with the network so should be faster and a lot easier to connect to a game, personally i think its worth a go if after a couple of sessions its not working then there is nothing forcing us to continue it.

i didn't make myself clear, i agree its a lgoistical nightware for us to arrange this, but if offered an online service/server for this then it'd be great.

probably my fault for not reading it properly, apologies

i used to play FMLive and really really enjoyed it, tended to play this far more than fm at the time and made some good friends on it i still speak to now, wish they would bring it back as i see fm as more of a single player game whereas that was purely online compete against other people.

Anyone else play this while it was out??

The best program to get online games going on a virtual network is Tunngle, we use it to play older games that official servers have gone down, or if one of us has a cheeky version of a game. Less hassle then Hamachi you just click create network and that's it your in. Currently playing Borderlands, Serious Sam & Civ 5 over it and 0 problems what so ever.

That is ofcourse if you don't want to just stick with Steam
