Scunthorpe United v Boro
Boro face Scunthorpe United on Tuesday night, looking to make it 2 away victories in 4 days.

Middlesbrough FC travel to Scunthorpe on the back of an impressive 3-0 victory over Swansea City at the weekend.

Boro have no new injury concerns ahead of the game tomorrow night.

Jeremie Aliadiere is set to return to training this week after picking up a hamstring injury.

Didier Digard, Matthew Bates, Chris Riggot and Emanuel Pogatetz are out with longer term injuries.

Gary O'Neil is set to play through the pain after pushing back a hernia operation to later this month.

Gareth Southgate is set to name an unchanged back 5, with Danny Coyne looking to keep a 3rd successive clean sheet.

Mark Yeates, Gary O'Neil, Rhys Williams and Boro's opening goal scorer on Saturday, Adam Johnson are set to start the game at Glanford Park.

Tuncay Sanli is likely to partner Marvin Emnes upfront after impressing at Swansea City.

Possible starting 11;

Coyne;

McMahon, Huth, Wheater, Grounds;

Yeates, O'Neil, Williams, Johnson;

Tuncay, Emnes.

RE: Scunthorpe United v Boro
Keep Tuncay to bench appearances, until Sept. If he's still here give him the first team nod. But in the starting eleven now knowing he will leave, won't build a partnership or confidence of Emnes & Lita that are our future for this season.
Plus it's one hell of an impact player to have at our disposal, during a dull 0-0 after 65 mins & reduces risk of injury.

I've got a horrible feeling we're going to fall to earth with a bump. Scunny got a good result against Derby (although they haven't looked all that impressive so far this season) so their morale will be high.
I'm hoping GS can keep the lad's feet on the ground and we can put in a professional performance, however I'm going for a Scunny 2-1 win... hope I'm wrong

I would be happy with a 1-0 Boro. Didn't scunny have a good result Saturday? Anyway even a point won't be too bad. I reckon 2-1 Boro though - there hows that for hedging my bets.
Yes I didn't see the post above when I wrote mine so it is not that I ignored it. Just didn't refresh beore I posted.

Kids by nature are cocky little devils, and as our squad is populated by plenty of academy lads, this is where we need the experienced heads to lead us to some consistency.
I'd imagine the high of drubbing Swansea, will have all the lads strutting like Andy Taylor on a night out.
Hopefully Lita's quest to get off the mark will see us scrape through 1-0 Boro.

2-0 to Boro with Williams to score first. I've had that bet on for the last two games. it has to come in one day.
