LETS PUSH THINGS FORWARD!
Please can all fans bring their scarf to the match! This will help to bring more movement and colour, and greatly improve the look of the Riverside.

The Red Faction lads are doing a grand job in bringing noise and colour back to the Riverside, They have big ambitions and many unique ideas for the future. We must support this movement! It is for the good of our football club.

Lets come together and turn the Riverside into a loud, visual representation of our love for the club. We all want the Riverside to be our fortress, Lets turn our ground into a *couldren of positive tribal energy that is noisy, bouncing, colourful and an intimidating place for opposition teams and there fans.

This all starts with us, Individuals like you and me! This is a call for all fans to bring their scarves (and any other flags, banners you may have) to the match to twirl above their heads. Lets Sing for the full 95 minutes and get right behind the lads. Lets show our Passion and Pride with noise, movement and colour. This is our team, our club, our home. Lets get back to the Premier League where we belong, Lets get back into Europe to complete our unfinished business.

Up he Boro!,

WE SHALL OVERCOME!

I admire your enthusiasm, really I do.i will be there in hope as always.the problem is its hard creating atmosphere with a half empty ground.a lot of people have lost faith with how the club has been run for 3 years and arnt willing to give their hard earned cash to support in person.the downturn has also hit hard in the area as you well know.
Ive come on here in the past and blasted the Club for not giving the fans cheaper tickets but ive been informed it upsets season card holders.the club has to give something back as it is at the heart of this community and at the moment it isnt doing enough.

Sounds great Tony, I'm all for it. If we could create an atmosphere like we do for away games, or like we used to at Ayresome Park, that would be fantastic.

Have to agree with lazarus, the average fan can't afford to go to the Riverside week in week out. The club are still charging admission fees to watch household names and Premiership football, when in fact that is very far from the quality that is being offered on the pitch.
When I still lived in Teesside I used to go every week, but couldn't afford to go once we moved to the Riverside. If I still lived in the Boro I would be there as often as I could, venting frustration at those fans that turn up just to criticise the team then leave 20 mins before the end, no matter what the score is... personally, I prefer away games, much much better atmosphere

I agree too lads, I much prefer the crack at away matches, were up there with the best away from home. But we must bring this to home matches, its started in the South East corner with the Red Faction lads. We the fans need to rectify the problem because no one else will, we must make the Riverside a fortress again.

Come on Boro!

RE: LETS PUSH THINGS FORWARD!
supertony ... great post and I agree.

It wasnt so long ago that teams feared coming to the Riverside because it wasnt an easy place to get a result regardless of who we were playing.

Why do the majority of our fans not sing? There is obviously certain sections of the Riverside that try their best but as the attendance has dropped its even harder to get any good atmosphere within the ground. The Sue Watson letter didnt help things and thats when we were getting an average gate of over 28,000.

MFC needs to re-invent itself,I liked the idea that was posted last week about the bag pipes and the drums.

I remember quite a few years ago when Everton were up against it in he Premiership and they dropped the Z Cars tune which they have played for donkies years in favour of the tune from the Great Escape. It certainly worked for them that season.

boroie ... there was a season or 2 under McClaren that we didnt lose too many games at home.

The football pundits often said that the Riverside was not an easy place to get 3 points.

RE: LETS PUSH THINGS FORWARD!
Theres times we did well at home but I struggle to remember a recent time when we really had a fortress style reputation at home, we have always given away silly results to teams. I suppose against the sky 4 we had excellent results but when the smaller teams came we seemed to roll over as often as not!

RE: LETS PUSH THINGS FORWARD!
Did anyone read that Mansfield had introduced a 'pay what you want' scheme for there game against Gateshead. It doubled their normal attendance and they reckon that gate receipts were up.

Maybe a bit extreme, but as many people have said, if you reduce the admission prices more people will turn up and gate receipts will increase, the atmosphere will be better and we might get those genuine fans back that we're priced out of the market when we moved to the Riverside and became a commercial machine, rather than the local football club.

RE: LETS PUSH THINGS FORWARD!
I never went to a match because of volume, I went because the atmosphere was great. Away always seemed to be best everyone just let go, home was good in both the boys end and holgate. I remember the old days of Leeds, Newcastle, Sunderland, Wolves (broke my heart), far better than the Man u, Liverpool & Chelsea, once had a Leeds strip. Boro used to out sing all, winning or losing.
