Derby Vs Boro..
Got to be a win tonight guys no holds barred straight for Derby's juggular.
Rip em to shreads and sew the game up before halftime. Hopefully we never got any serious injuries Saturday and we have an unchanged side. Like I said before in another thread very impressed with Taylor and Naughtons cross's from deep and Robbo and O'Neils continuing growing strengths in the middle. Williams battling for every ball. Has the mechanic said the engines running nicely the wheels are good all we need now is for Maccy D and Killen to drive it home. 1-3 to the Boro. I'm a Boro armchair fan. ![]() ![]() Alpha1 COPD Global Forum |

RE: Derby Vs Boro..
It'll be interesting to see which Derby turns up tonight, their form has been very indifferent lately, stuffing Newcastle one minute, the next losing heavily to Reading.
I think it really is a test of our ambitions this one, we need to go for it from the off. No slow starts, no sitting back. We have looked a much improved side recently, we have to start turning those performances into victories now. I haven't been doing too bad with my predictions from the Play Off points post: My Boro predictions being: QPR h 2-0 Cardiff a 0-1 Newcastle h 1-1 Derby a 1-0 Reading h 3-1 Preston h 2-1 Watford a 2-2 Palace h 3-0 Plymouth a 2-1 Sheff Wed h 2-0 West Brom a 0-2 Coventry h 2-0 Leicester a 1-1 So, i'll stick with a 1-0 Boro win tonight Boro 'til I die |

RE: Derby Vs Boro..
I think this match is more crucial than Newcastle in some ways because you would have expected all players to be up for the Newcastle match. The test comes when you play a team who are not doing it but are fighting for survival.
Will this be yet another disappointment and a match we should have won on the performance; or can we go on and turn the performance into goals and a clean sheet. Nothing other than a win will do because any other result will surely mean the end of any play off hopes; and that includes a draw. I think Strachan should really go for it and play Bennett at left back or even give him a chance wide left. He can tackle, pass, and has a decent shot on him as well as being able to run all day. He is quick also. I really cant see this being easy and would settle for a 1 0 win with the ball going in off someones backside; even one of their players. After Saturday we should be full of confidence but will have to be concentrating 100% in the first 10 mins; and the final 10 mins as it is this period that has cost us lately. If we do get ahead then we have to go for it all out attack because that is definitely our best form of defence at the moment. Could it be that Derby was Garth's last game and Gordon's first of a winning run til now and the end of the season. Maybe the players could take it as an omen and what is meant to be. If so you could even say that our charge for a play off place started with that 2 0 defeat of Derby all those games ago. I know that would be pushing the boundaries of positivity to the limit but sometimes you have to look under the smallest stones to find the what you are looking for. |

RE: Derby Vs Boro..
This has all the hallmarks of a chalk and cheese situation and one that tonight is so so vital for Boro.
We must not put in one good performance then ruin it by a poor follow up match so am going for a 2-0 win to Boro but would not be suprised if history repeats itself |

RE: Derby Vs Boro..
BoroLegend .... If Strachan picks Bennett (which I doubt) I hope he puts in a much improved performance from the one that he did against Peterborough when he was last picked, because he was bloody awful.

RE: Derby Vs Boro..
From what I gathered, Arca had a half decent game on Saturday on the left, so he'll probably start tonight
Boro 'til I die |
