Latest News from Middlesbrough Football Club

Transfer Rumours - Date: 22 Jun 2008

Gareth Southgate is certain to strengthen the Middlesbrough team after Rochemback, Schwarzer, Mendieta and Lee left the club. Boro have recently been linked with a move for Ferrie Bodde.

The Swansea midfielder played a huge role in Swansea's League One title win last year and looks certain to move on.

Boro have also been linked with Newcastle winger James Milner, but with Eveton and Aston Villa also linked with the player, the price could rise upto £7 million.

According to The News of The World, "Harper is set to be Middlesbrough's first summer signing". The Reading midfielder is set to move on after being relegated with Reading. Another Reading player, Ibrahima Sonko also seems certain to leave with a tag of £2 million.

Charlton midfielder Zheng Zhi has been linked with a move to the North East with Sunderland and Middlesbrough both bidding for the player.

A replacement for Mark Schwarzer may come in the form of Jussi Jaaskelainen or £5 million Wolves keeper Wayne Hennessey.
