'Boro hold talks with in-demand Sunderland striker'
Reports suggest Middlesbrough FC have held talks with representatives of the 20-year-old Sunderland forward.
Reports claim that Middlesbrough FC are eyeing a move for Sunderland striker Josh Maja, having held talks with representatives of the striker.
The 20-year-old is out of contract this summer and although the Black Cats have offered him an improved contract, it is believed the 20-year-old is looking for a move away from League One.
Boro are reportedly ready to offer £2 million for Maja, however face strong competition from several Premier League teams with West Ham United, Crystal Palace and Cardiff City showing an interest. German clubs Stuttgart, Cologne and Wolfsburg are also keen to sign him, however Sunderland are expected to hold out on their £4 million valuation of the promising forward.
Maja has scored 16 goals in League One, helping establish Sunderland as promotion candidates this season.
With Maja out of contract at the end of the season, Sunderland will be looking to cash in on the player now, rather than lose him for a minimal fee in the summer.
