boro-unger 3,811
Details Teams – Charlton Football Team V Middlesbrough United Location – The Charlton 'We play here' Football Arena Stadium Ground Competition – The Premier League II Date – Sun 13rd March 2016 Kick off – 15:30 Introduction Because Borobadger has burrowed to France, DownSouth presented me with a wonderful chance, To lead your match thread, and put thoughts in your head, That without me you would never have fathomed. I tremble at a task of this size, but will try to create a feast for your eyes, I don't have much time, so it'll all be in rhyme, And the truth might be bent for this purpose... The Last Games Boro: Rotherham one, Middlesbrough none In a game most presumed a banker, along came a man called Karanka, Left Rhodes on the bench, and made our fists clench, And that's why we call him a ...pranker Charlton: Charlton nil, MK Dons don't need the pill (because they didn't score) Charlton played the Dons at the valley, and in the crowd was a nice lass named Sally. She had nothing to cheer, and the men started to leer, Cos there was nothing on the pitch to excite them. It was a cold tuesday eve, and Sally had a boyfriend called Steve, Like Sanogo he saw red, and there were elbows to heads, And now Sally and Steve are not welcome. Graph There will be no graph today, for frankly I just CBA, I lost my protractor, and no benefactor, Has been forthcoming with a replacement... Availability News for you all to muse Boro: :( - Ayala has hurted his leg, but he'll soon be back we all beg. For we all miss his pace, and his strangely long face. So come back soon Ayala we pray. :) - There once was a man called Rhys Williams, he sat on the bench earning millions, so we sent him to Athletic, where he was utterly poetic, and they started to play like Brazilians. Now fortunately for us he is back, destined to revive our attack, He looks like a beaver, this wonderful midfielder, If only his legs weren't so cack... :) - George Friend is fit, or so say the girls, He amazes us all with his flicks and his twirls, So should we start him, or get De Sart in, And play some square pegs in round holes? Form (League only - most recent last) Boro: DWWLWL Charlton: DLLLWD The View From The Other Side I'm not sure anyone cares, about their southern graces and airs, They're in love with a sword and moan 'bout the board, And discuss Duchatelet falling down stairs... The Un(ger)-Official Match Preview After beating them earlier in the season, a lack of repeat would be treason, We'll make it hard work, and fans knees will jerk, But Riga will soon wish he got De Vries in. The Ad***s haven't won at home since November, and Rhodes, how to score will remember, With Nick Pope as their goalie, their defence will be holy, And we'll score at least three goals I'm certain... Talking Points - Up front who'll get sent, will it be Rhodes or Nugent? - Will we get back to winning ways, or is this a serious malaise? - Will Huddersfield deal a blow, to the ginger gruffalo? Erimus 63 478
Anything less than a win will be deemed failure after two inept away displays on the trot. That is all.
BoroNut 31
My rage at Karanka it grow, whilst Boro's football fails to flow The Boro sit near the summit, but half of me thinks we will plummet, Three points is a must, whilst Burnley have thrust, I just hope the men in red know it. fyi, i like your rhythm. ManBearPig 1,833
If we don't win this game,it'll be tears in the rain. Because here's the thing, we need a win. The problems at the back leave us in the poo, time to up your game Emilio Nsue. Kalas and Gibbo to shut up shop, with Gorgeous George to get in the blocks. Clayton and Leadboots bring us solidarity. Hopefully they shield with old familiarity. Downing, ramirez and Adomah behind, with clinical Jordan leading the line. No excuses, no ifs or buts, for 90 mins lads, strut your stuff. What about the gaffer? Aitor Karanka. Probably to some, considered a ***er. He's got us this far so keep the faith, hopefully a win will give him some space. Because the pack is close and the table is tight. Just make me a happy ManBearPig come Sunday night!!
"KM" 1,656
Most important game of AK's tenure, if we fail to beat a side destined for League 1 then questions will rightly be asked. We simply cannot afford anymore slip ups if we're still bothered about finishing in the top 2. The players should shoulder some of the blame for this poor run of form but AK will be held accountable should we not go up this season. I can't begin to imagine the poisonous atmosphere on this board should we fail to win. In fact I will have to try and restrain myself from posting during the match. My brother will just have to listen to me spout rubbish while the game is on.

Betamaxman 14
Urgh, could do with a good few months without seeing us play again tbh ^^^ I rather feel the same. Come Sunday afternoon I probably won't be able to stop myself!! After our back to back wins against Brighton, Shef.Wed, and Derby in Dec/Jan, I really thought that we were almost there. Genuinely thought that we could pull away from the rest like Leicester, Newcastle, West Brom of previous seasons. It's like I'd learned nothing from 35+ years of supporting Boro!! TheTeessideOne 4
Great OP and I for one can't wait for this match, in fact I wish it were tomorrow night! If we win on Sunday I can only see it being by a big margin, and if that happens we should go into the Hull game with a bit of confidence, and with it being under the lights at the Riverside anything could happen. 6 points, or even 4, would be huge for us going into the international break, so we really need to pull out all stops to do that. Don't give up any hope just yet, we've seen greater comebacks in the past. UTB.
Tom 2,492
Still fancy us to win this one, despite being cack away from home at the minute. Think Rhodes and Nugent might both start. Kalas will come back in for Fry. 2-0, Rhodes brace.
Boro Badger 87
Love it BU - if only the Boro were as consistent as your threads. Sorry for dropping you in it, at the last minute Your work is spot on, I'll bring you back a croissant...
